Project Guidelines

  1. Walk a line with some significance to the medieval world, here defined as any place on earth between roughly 300 - 1400 CE. You may walk the line in geographic or cognitive space. 

  2. Document your journey. 

  3. Send your line coordinates, a description of your line, and documentation to medieval.line.project@gmail.com.

  4. Line walks will be archived on the Medieval Line Project website.

  • Ideas for Line Walks

    • Pilgrimages

    • Walks to or from a historic site

    • Walks along, or inspired by, a trade route

    • A choreographed, or improvised, dance 

    • Mental/meditative journeys

    • A line determined through a digital mapping tool

    • A walk around the perimeter of an imagined or real building, for which there may or may not be a plan or blueprint
